Tightening Facial Toner 4oz (Case of 6)

The third in our trio of face toners is an infusion of astringent herbs, witch hazel, and aloe gel.

Astringent herbs contain properties that assist in the tightening and toning of tissues by causing them to constrict.  (Jim McDonald, Michigan Herbalist). Lax tissues can appear as redness, swelling, and even oozing. Applying astringent constituents may readily improve the appearance and texture of the skin.

Sage (salvia officinalis) is a mild astringent.  The word salvia comes from the roots “to save” or “to heal” and in medieval times there was a saying “Why should a man die while Sage is growing in his garden?”.

Witch Hazel (hamamelis viginiana) is a strong astringent that is extracted from a beautiful tree rather than a plant.  And it’s not just an astringent.  It is also antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and antioxidant to name a few.  (herbmentor.com)

Elderflower (sambucus nigra) is not an astringent herb but has been commonly used, in the past, as a regular part of beauty regimens.  Elderflower is the bloom of the elder plant.  Yes, the same plant that makes elderberries.  The plant has cooling and drying properties and can assist with inflammation and redness.

Aloe Gel is extracted from the aloe plant and creates the perfect moisturizing and soothing benefits to bring a healthy glow while preventing over dryness.
